Anthony Schaa age 50 of Orange City, Iowa, formerly of Ashton died Monday, November 22, 2021, at his residence in Orange City.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 27th at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton.
Burial will be at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon, IA.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton. There will be a rosary at 6:45 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Anthony “Tony” L. Schaa was born on June 30, 1971, in Algona, IA to Carl and Karla (Johnson) Schaa. Tony grew up and attended school at Bancroft. Later Tony moved to Ashton with his family in 1978 and was a 1989 graduate of Sibley High School. He worked at Chase Bag and later moved to Orange City and worked at Diamond Vogel Paints for 20 years.
Tony absolutely adored his niece and nephew; cars were a particular passion, and he could be seen admiring cars with his dad at various car shows and auctions. Tony loved music and attended concerts whenever he could. The Pittsburgh Steelers were his football team and he loved following sports of all kinds.
Tony is survived by his parents, Carl and Karla Schaa of Sibley, IA; his sister Angie (William Krula) Schaa and her children his very special niece Miranda Hicks and a very special nephew Matthew Hicks all of Le Mars. of Le Mars, IA; a seven-year loving partner Betty Sundt and her three boys Travis, Brandon and Tyler all of Le Mars, IA.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry, Sr. and Mildred Schaa, Carl and Leona Johnson; and several uncles, aunts & cousins.
