Arlene Serck age 82 of Inwood, IA, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Fellowship Village in Inwood, IA.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. John Hostettler officiating. Burial will follow at the Alvord Cemetery in Alvord, IA.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, IA.
In lieu of flowers family wish memorials be directed to Fellowship Village, Inwood, IA.

Arlene Joan Andresen was born on the family farm on March 30, 1936 to Wilbur and Leona (Meyer) Andresen. Arlene attended Logan #7 country school and graduated from Inwood High School in 1954. On April 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Vernon Serck at Christ Lutheran Church in Alvord. They farmed together west of Alvord and raised five children: Gene, Steve, Dave, Greg, and Koni. Arlene loved her family very much. She always enjoyed sleepovers with the grandkids and would help them whenever needed. She especially enjoyed baking for the holidays and entertaining family and friends. Arlene was involved with bowling, Bible studies, was a Sunday school and catechism teacher. She was also a Cub Scout den mother. One highlight was when her troop took first place at the Scout Jamboree. Arlene moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 2006. In March of 2010, Arlene experienced a stroke and lived in various assisted living facilities and nursing homes as a result. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends
She is survived by her children: Gene (Luann) Serck of Rock Rapids, IA, Steve Serck of Alvord, IA, Dave (Lisa) Serck of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Serck of Des Moines, IA, and Koni (Dale) Kooima of Rock Valley, IA; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Milissa Serck.
