Arthur Glenn Kruse was born December 20, 1925 to Dick J. and Marie (Mayland) Kruse on a farm near Adrian, Minnesota. He was raised on the farm near Adrian, and attended school in Little Rock, Iowa. Later, his family moved to farmland near Bigelow, Minnesota. He graduated from Bigelow High School at the age of sixteen. Art served in the United States Army for eighteen months, serving in Japan at the close of World War 2.
On November 25, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Willts at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, Iowa. To this union three children were born. Art and Mary raised their family on the family farm near Bigelow, Minnesota. They moved to Sibley in 1996.
Art was a proud farmer, but also had a side job as an electrician and telephone lineman. He was a very involved member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley. In the past he served as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Bigelow American Legion, and a past president of the Bigelow Elevator Board.
Art played baseball for many years and really enjoyed watching football. He was a “Jack of all trades”, doing carpentry, woodworking, and anything electrical. Out of all his hobbies he loved farming the most, with his John Deere equipment. He would tell stories about farming with horses. Mary remembers the many Sunday drives to go look to see who had dirty beanfields. He loved food and did not have very many dislikes when it came to food. His family will remember him for being an honest and faithful man.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Mary; 3 children, Brian (Susan) Kruse of Midland, MI, Glenn (Cathi) Kruse of Atlanta, GA, and Jeanne (Steve) Roudabush of Eden Prairie, MN; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Alvin Kruse; along with extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Marie; infant brother, Albert; and brother Arnold Kruse.
Blessed Be His Memory.
