Bailey Jens Hoyer

 Bailey Hoyer, age 17, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

     The Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, in Sibley, IA with Pastor Doug Noonkester officiating.

     Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19th at First Baptist Church of Sibley, IA.

     Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21st, at Spring Creek Cemetery, in Ruskin, NE.

     In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials to: family teen & family ministry in Bailey's memory, entitled Bailey's Lodge, located in the back room of The Lantern Coffeehouse & Roastery in Sibley, IA.  Checks may be written to The Lantern Ministries, a nonprofit 501C3, 304 9th Ave, Sibley IA 51249 .      

    

     Bailey Jens Hoyer was born January 30, 2001 in O'Neill, NE to Eugene and Brenda (Shuck) Hoyer.  He lived the first two years of his life in Butte, NE before moving to the St. Cloud, MN area in 2003. His family then moved to Ashton, IA in 2008, and finally to Sibley, IA in 2012. 

     Bailey was recently attending classes at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA.  Bailey worked for his father at High Plains Dairy, and also worked for his mother at the Lantern Coffeehouse & Roastery in Sibley, IA.  He was currently employed at Brian Thole's dairy, in Ashton, IA.

     Bailey was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed trapshooting.  He was known for his infectious smile, kind blue eyes, and his ability to make others laugh.  

     Bailey accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior at a young age.  He always loved Jesus and knew Jesus loved him.  Bailey was always reaching out to the hurting.  He once asked his mother to write down a verse to keep in his wallet at all times: "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

     Bailey is survived by his parents; Eugene and Brenda Hoyer of Sibley, IA; two sisters, Natasha Hoyer of Eagle, NE, and Kelsey (Justin) Schultz, of Wetaskiwin, AB, Canada; grandparents, Beauford and Ernestine Hoyer of Superior, NE, Dean and Aladean Shuck of Beatrice, NE, and George Coon of Overland Park, KS; nieces and nephews, Tucker and Harlee Hespe, and Brom, Brenna, and Jonathan Schultz; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     He was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and these family members who had gone before him: his grandmother, Sharon Coon; uncle, Kenny Shuck; and aunt, Diane Rhoden.

     Upon his passing, his loved ones have been amazed to learn how many lives Bailey touched.
