NOTICE: Sibley, IA Barbara Nasers Tribute Video Click Here for Barbara Nasers Live Stream Funeral Service Barbara Mae Nasers age 86 of Sibley, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, IA with Fr. Siby Punnoose officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Friday, January 8th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home Walton Chapel in Sibley. In lieu of flowers family wish donations which will be used toward Hawkeye Point. Barbara was born September 16, 1934, at home near Harris, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Isabel (Walker) Swalve. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, May City, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Harris High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Ray A. Nasers on February 14, 1957 at the Catholic Church rectory in Sanborn, IA. They had a double wedding with her twin sister Beverly and Ray’s brother Robert. The couple lived at their family farm north of Sibley, Iowa where they raised their family and farmed until retirement. Over the years she cooked many delicious meals and delivered them out to the field. Barbara loved gardening, mowing, big bonfires, and everything outdoors. Having a little treat and coffee with those she loved. Attending many grandkids school performances, plays and sporting events, weddings, and family reunions. Going to town and shopping with her sister. She had a love for country music, especially Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers and Johnny Cash. She and Ray went to many dances, movies and shows in Okoboji. The family enjoyed fairs, trips to Arnolds Park, picnics, and many family vacations while the kids were growing up and in later years with the grandkids. She died peacefully at home Sunday morning, January 3rd at the age of 86. Survivors include her twin sister Beverly Nasers of Sibley, Iowa. Her five children Allen (Heide) Nasers of Slayton, Minn., Michael Nasers of Sibley, Steven Nasers of Sibley, Linda (Tim) Coleman of Sibley and Kristi (John) Marquardt of Excelsior, Minn. Fifteen grandchildren Kristin, Zara, Emily, Chantal, Afton, Melissa, Lindsay, Colton, Colin, Patrick, Houston, Dakota, Isabel, Jack and Rosemary; seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin and Isabel; husband Ray; brother- and sister-in-laws Roy, Dorothy, Robert, Glenn, Teresa; niece Cindy Iedema and nephew Edward Nasers.
