Betty Schilling

     Betty Schilling age 90, of Sibley, IA died Monday, July 4, 2022 at at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA.

     Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA with Rev. Ben Wiersma, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, IA.

     Visitation will be Friday, July 8th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with the family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Betty LaJean (Reintsma) Schilling was born May 23, 1932, at Sibley, IA the daughter of Otto and Aleatha (Hundley) Reintsma.  Betty grew up and attended school in Sibley.  She was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Sheldon, IA on December 24, 1978, by Pastor Tunis Schuurman.  On July 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Herbert Schilling at Sioux Falls, SD.  They made their home in Sibley.  Along with raising her family she worked at Priebes in Sibley, Cambell Soup in Worthington, MN, Associated Milk Producers (AMPI).  She enjoyed travelling with her family and making visits to Kansas and also California.  Betty was always busy working alongside with her husband, Herbert, going fishing, drawing or painting beautiful pictures, crafts and enjoyed playing cards.  In her younger years she cherished riding horseback on her horse “Dude”.  Betty enjoyed a full life of love and enjoyment.  She was a resident of Sibley Specialty Care where she died this past Monday, July 4, 2022, at the age of ninety.

     She is survived by her children, Teri (Gary) Erfman of Sibley, IA; Greg (Deb) Schilling of Harlan, IA; David (Debbie) Schilling of Sheldon, IA and Lee (Lori) Schilling of Sanborn, IA; along with fifteen grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

     Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; parents, Otto and Aleatha; siblings, Margaret Rahfaldt; Arthur Reintsma and Marvin Reintsma and sister-in-law, Dena Broesder.
