     Bonnie L. Grotewold age 74 of Larchwood, IA passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Fellowship Village in Inwood, IA.

     A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3^rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA. There will be a Vigil service at 7:15 PM Friday night at the church.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 4^th at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA, with Father Sunny Dominic as celebrant.

     Burial will follow in the Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood.    

     Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood.

     Bonnie Lee Grotewold was born on February 23, 1948 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Adeline (LaFrenz) Snyders. She grew up in Larchwood, Iowa, graduating from St. Mary's Catholic School. On January 18th, 1975 she married Robert Grotewold at the English Lutheran Church in Larchwood. They farmed near Lester, later moving into Larchwood. Bonnie owned both the Corner Café and the Dinner Bell in Larchwood; where her friendly smile and hot beef sandwich were legendary! Her hobbies included cross-stitch, collecting bird figurines, ceramics and tending her flowers. She especially enjoyed watching the activities and attending the birthday parties of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. If anyone was leaving town and there was an extra seat in the car, she was game to go!

      Bonnie is survived by her four step-children: Edna (Calvin) Kellenberger, David (Tammy) Grotewold, Robert "Spud" (Mary) Grotewold, Darryl "Shorty" (Linda) Grotewold; 10 step-grandchildren, along with numerous step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary Ann Fernen, Doug (Debbie) Snyders, Don (Julie) Snyders, Mona (Doug) Stensland, brother-in-law Ron McKee, and her nieces and nephews.

     Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents John and Adeline; sister Barb; brother-in-law Larry Fernen; and nephew Pat Fernen.
