   Bonnie Klosterman age 83 of Ashton, IA passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 19^th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, IA, with Fr. Siby Punnoose and Fr. Kevin Richter as Concelebrants.

     Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ashton.

     Visitation will be Sunday, August 18^th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. and rosary to follow the vigil service.

     Bonnie Helen Klosterman was born February 23, 1936 near Melvin, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Nettie (Clarksean) Strenge.  She was raised in rural Osceola County and graduated from Melvin High School in 1954.

     Bonnie was united in marriage to Ervin Klosterman on March 5, 1957 at the Sanborn Catholic Church.  To this union two children were born, Patty and Mike.  In January of 1987 Bonnie’s husband of 29 years, Ervin passed away.

     Bonnie was longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, the Ashton Library, the Osceola Community Hospital Auxiliary Board and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She was an avid reader, and she loved collecting candle stick phones and clocks.  She loved working at Mr. B’s, and her love for clothes and fashion was reflected in her closet. Bonnie also greatly enjoyed spending time with friends, including the Merry 7, wine club and book club.

     In April of 2019 Bonnie entered Sibley Specialty Care and remained there until this past Friday, August 16, 2019, when she died at the age of 83.

     Left to cherish her memory are two children, Patty (husband Steve) Oolman of Harrisburg, SD and Mike Klosterman of Urbandale, IA; three grandchildren, Kalie (husband Monte) Miles and their children, Kinslee and Merritt of Pinedale, WY, Brianna (husband Zach) Booth of Pinedale, WY and Brady (wife Alyssa) Oolman of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law, Shirley Klosterman of Sibley, IA and Beverly Strenge of George, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Nettie Strenge; husband, Ervin Klosterman; brother, Waynard Strenge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene (husband Marty) Kroese, June Elaine (husband Marvin) Folkers and LaVonne (husband Elgin) Larson.
