 Brian Duis age 60 of Melvin, IA died on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. 

 A private funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Jurrens Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Swenson officiating. 

 Burial will follow in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery of Ocheyedan. 

 Public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA. 

 In lieu of flowers, the Duis family prefers memorials.

Brian Keith Duis was born on March 1, 1964, in Sheldon, IA, the son of Kenneth and Sharlene (Roede) Duis. Brian grew up on a farm near Ocheyedan, IA. He attended school there and later graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1982.

 Brian had various jobs throughout his life and most recently worked for Lynch Livestock in Sibley. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, playing slow pitch softball, woodworking, caring for his livestock, and just being outdoors. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed. 

 Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Kalli (Chris) Williams, and Jordan (Jordyn) Caquelin-Duis; his mother, Sharlene Duis; stepchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Braun, Maggie (Adam) Blume, and Abbigail (Thomas) Nalepa; grandchildren, Madeline, Miles, Evelyn, Baylor, Rylan, Tate, Kohen, Alaina, Samantha, Brock, Brinley, Bryer, Breka, Olivia, Cora, and Aidan; three siblings, Jeff (Diane) Duis, Jackie Duis, and Brad (Amy) Duis; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. 

 He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Duis, and his niece, Rachel Duis.
