Brian Jay Seivert was born on August 29, 1967, in Sheldon, IA, the son of Fred and Marlene (Haudenshield) Seivert. He grew up in Sibley and later graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 1986.
On March 10, 1990, he was united in marriage to Barb Kuhl of Worthington, MN in Sibley, IA. To this union three children were born, Jacob, Leah, and Carley. He was a devoted husband and an incredibly dedicated dad, always providing for others' needs before his own. Brian worked several places throughout his life, most recently with the City of Sibley Street Department, and previously with Co-op hauling propane and Chase Packaging as a machine operator. He also enjoyed driving truck part-time for local farmers and helping out with his kids' lawn mowing service.
He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the IBEW LU 55, while also volunteering for Atlas of Osceola County. In his free time, Brian enjoyed going fishing and driving his cars and motorcycles. He had a knack for buying and selling vehicles, always coming out ahead in any purchase or sale he made. Cherished memories include his marriage to his wife Barb, the birth of his kids, and watching all of them succeed in sports and school. Brian also recently had the honor of walking his daughter Leah down the aisle at her wedding. Brian will be greatly missed by those that had the privilege of knowing him.
Brian is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Barb Seivert of Sibley, IA; three children, Jacob Seivert of West Des Moines, IA, Leah (Scott) Tanis of Sioux Falls, SD, and Carley (fiancé Jaden Kleinhesselink) of Sibley, IA; mother, Marlene Seivert of Sibley, IA; mother- and father-in-law, Louise and Stan Kuhl of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Brad (Annette) Seivert of Tracy, MN, and Bruce (Brenda) Seivert of Sibley, IA; nephew, Andrew Seivert of Sioux Falls, SD and niece, Kate Seivert of Rochester, MN; and other extended family and friends.
