Clarence Venenga

     Clarence Venenga age 90, of George, IA died Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home in George, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA with Pastor Bryan Anderson, officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock, IA.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.

     Clarence Marvin Venenga was born March 29, 1930, at Rushmore, MN the son of Tom and Olive (Kruse) Venenga.  Clarence grew up in the Little Rock, IA area where he attended country school.   On January 17, 1950, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Lamfers at George, IA.  They made their home in Little Rock and George.  To this union three children were born.  Sylvia passed away on December 20, 1995.  Clarence was united in marriage to Claretta (Martensen) on February 15, 1997 at Tabernacle Baptist Church and made their home for the past 23 years in George.  Clarence worked various jobs over his life and the last one was driving truck for DEMCO Manufacturing in Boyden, IA.  He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.  He believed in Christ for the gift of eternal life at a young age.  One of his proudest moments was when his great grandson, Briggs was given the middle name Clarence.  He always looked forward to the fall fishing trips to Sauk Centre, MN with special friends.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and flowers, mowing his lawn and going to the Friday night races in years past.  Clarence always enjoyed his Sunday morning coffee group visiting around the table.  This past Monday morning, Clarence died unexpectedly at his home in George, at the age of 90.

     He is survived by his wife, Claretta of George, IA; his children, Bonnie (Steve) Kruse of George, IA; Charnele (Roger) Lamfers of George, IA and Randy (Liz) Venenga of Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren, Shauna (Tim) Mauldin of George, IA; Rachelle (Mike) Groote of George, IA; Allison (Justin) Wipf of Yale, SD and Katie (Brandon) Decker of Doland, SD;  step grandchildren, Jackie (Jeremy) Stueven of George, IA; Brandon Kruse of George, IA and Shannon Van Meeteran of George, IA; eight great grandchildren, Jayden, Payton, Sydni Mauldin; Mitchel Groote; Remington and Corbin Wipf; and Emmie and Briggs Decker; step great grandchildren, Taylor Van Voorst, Shaylee Stueven, Conner Stueven, Danny Kruse, Dana Kruse, Wyatt Guse and Ella Van Meeteran; two sisters, JoAnn Bock of Little Rock, IA and Erma (Dennis) Hayenga of Little Rock, IA and a sister-in-law, Jan Lamfers of Sibley, IA; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

     Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Olive; wife, Sylvia and brother-in-law, Clifford Block.
