Clifford G. DeNeui age 89, of Topeka, KS, formerly of George, IA, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
A graveside service will take place 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA.

Clifford (Cliff) G. DeNeui was born February 23, 1931 in George Iowa to George and Minnie DeNeui. He attended the George Public Schools graduating in 1949. He grew up in and was a member of the Central Baptist Church of George, IA. He attended Minnesota State University at Mankato, graduating with a BA degree in 1956. In 1954 and 1955 he served in the US Army Infantry. After completing basic training at Camp Roberts, CA he was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division in Aschaffenburg, Germany with the Army of Occupation. He loved to travel and see new places and, when on leave, he enjoyed traveling and sightseeing in many European countries.
In 1962 he was married and in 1965 his son Jeff was born, who he enjoyed spending time and later enjoyed following his son’s career as an Air Force Officer.
In 1960 he began what turned out to be his life’s work in life insurance underwriting. First with Northwestern National Life in Minneapolis, MN, then Security Benefit Life in Topeka, KS, and then Alliance Life in Wichita, KS where he was Vice-President of Underwriting. He then moved to Chicago, IL where he was an Underwriting Consultant for Allstate Life Insurance Co. for 5 years before retiring and moving back to Topeka, KS where he spent his retirement years. His work also included some travel to various parts of the country which he enjoyed.
He liked playing sports such as baseball and basketball in High School and later tennis, golf, fishing, and skiing with friends.
He is survived by his son, Jeff DeNeui of Little Rock, AR, two sisters, Darlene Harms of George, IA and Mickey Arneson of Medina, MN; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Alvin, and one sister; Viola.
