Dale Keith Kruse was born November 4, 1944 to Helmer & Emma (Buss) Kruse. He grew up on his family farm near Little Rock and graduated from the Little Rock school. On June 5, 1964 Dale was united in marriage to Linda Odens at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. They lived on Dale’s family farm and started to operate their dairy farm. Dale owned and operated the dairy for 60 years.
Dale was a member of the Little Rock School Board and the George-Little Rock school board for many years. He was a deacon on the First Presbyterian Church board and a member of the Lyon County Dairy Association.
Dale had a passion for his Allis Chalmers tractors and his Ford tractors. Dale participated in many tractor pulls with his Allis WD45. Dale loved having his kids work by his side on the dairy farm and then later having many of his grandkids work along side him on the farm. While working on the farm Dale had a special knack for finding a way to fix things (even if not broken). He was in many ways his very own engineer.
In November of 2022 Dale became a resident of the Park View Manor in Ellsworth, MN where he passed away on June 9 at the age of 78 years 7 months and 5 days.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Kruse; children, Brian Kruse of Sibley, IA, Donell (Brad) Nagel of Little Rock, IA, Darla Hart of Sibley, IA, Denise (Sterling) Severtson of Kenneth, MN, Deanna Kruse of Rushmore, MN, Darci (Josh) Alexander of Pilger, NE, and Brandon (Tracy) Kruse of Little Rock, IA; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Evelyn) Kruse of Little Rock, IA; sisters Betty Pope of Little Rock, IA and Jean O’Brien of Hiawatha, IA; sisters-in-law, Colette (Ray) Symthe of Ellsworth, MN, Karla (Reid) Colwell of Sioux Falls, SD, Lila (Dan) Boltjes of Ellsworth, MN; and many other extended family members.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer & Emma Kruse parents-in-law, Lawrence and Irene Odens, Brothers-in-law Ronald Pope and Dennis O’Brien, and two granddaughters, Sarah Nagel and Kayla Duin. Blessed be the memory of Dale Kruse.
