Daryl Renner, age 87 of Sibley, IA died on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Sibley Specialty Care.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 29th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Reverend Tim Nappe officiating.
Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley, with military honors by the George E. Mudge American Legion Post No. 324 and William F. Allard VFW Post No. 7373.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.
Daryl Freeman Renner was born on October 11, 1934, in Sibley, IA, the son of Harry and Margaret (Wollmuth) Renner. He grew up in Cloverdale and later graduated from Sibley High School in 1954. After graduating he was drafted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1956 to 1958.
On December 8, 1963, Daryl was united in marriage to Sandra Luft in Vermillion, SD. The couple made their home and farmed in Cloverdale, IA, and to this union three sons were born, Randy, Rick, and Ron.
After thirty-eight years of marriage Sandra passed away on December 3, 2000.
Daryl was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandkids and family. He loved to travel and especially spending time in Yuma, AZ with his special friend Rosie Hatting. Daryl also enjoyed driving and riding in his black Dodge pick-up and especially enjoyed taking his black Hemi Dodge Charger on an occasional test drive. Daryl will be greatly missed.
Daryl is survived by two sons, Rick (Amy) Renner of Cedar Rapids, IA, and their daughters, Ashby and Jordan, and Ron (Amy) Renner of Sibley, IA, and their sons, Dawson, and Carson; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Renner and her sons, Chris and Anthony; nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret Renner; brother, LeRoy Renner; wife, Sandra; and son, Randy Renner.
