NOTICE: George, IA

 

     David Lund age 59 of George, Iowa died Friday, September 25, 2020 at his home in George.

 

     Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA with Rev. Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George.

 

     A visitation will take place Friday, October 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present at Tabernacle Baptist.

    

     David Allen Lund was born April 1, 1961 to Lee and Arlys (Weisenburger) Lund in New Rockford, North Dakota.  He attended New Rockford High School til 1979.  A few years after high school he attended Jackson Community College for electronics.  He was united in marriage to Julee Van Briesen on April 18, 1998 at the Wayside Chapel near Sioux Center, IA.  David was blessed with two children, Samantha and Morgan.  

 

     David worked as an ironworker and in construction for 36 years, before becoming a truck driver.  He enjoyed fishing, socializing with friends, golfing and drinking beer.  He was a very avid and die hard Vikings fan.

 

     David was a private person with a good sense of humor.  He was the type of person that would put everybody else before himself.  Family was very important to him.  

 

     Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julee; daughters, Samantha Wegner of Okabena, MN, and Morgan Lund of Wisconsin Dells, WI; brothers, Robert Lund of San Angelo, TX, Allen Lund of Heimdal, ND; sister, Charlotte Eversvik of Fargo, ND; along with many extended family and friends.

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Arlys, and stepmother Mabel.
