David “Dave” Miller age 66, of George, IA, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Reverend Matt Polsdofer officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday, April 14th at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA.
David Lee Miller was born on May 18, 1956, in Perry, IA, the son of Larry and Dorothy (Janssen) Miller. He received his education at Woodward-Granger High School, graduating in 1975. Following his graduation, he served six years in the Army National Guard.
From a previous marriage two daughters were born, Kari and Jaclyn. On October 10, 1981, he was united in marriage to Kimberle Borman at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA. To this union three daughters were born, Rachel, Heather, and Jennifer. In 1982 the couple moved to George, IA. They were members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, where David taught Sunday school and was a Luther League leader. He was also involved in 4H for thirteen years.
David drove school bus for many years and worked various places as a mechanic. He also worked as a truck driver for Brad Sudbeck for three years and Sudenga Industries in George.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-one years, Kimberle Miller of George, IA; five daughters, Kari (Jason) Dirks and Jaclyn Daniels both of George, IA, Rachel (Blake) Arends of Little Rock, IA, Heather (George) Beyer of Sibley, IA, and Jennifer (Mitchell) Kiers of George, IA; eight grandchildren, Ashlee and Tyler Rypkema, Declan, Aislinn and Quinn Dirks, Gracelyn and Parker Arends, and Mitchell Kiers; three brothers, Robert Miller of Woodward, IA, Jerry (Nancy) Miller of Joplin, MO, and Michael (Julie) Miller of Council Bluffs, IA; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Dorothy Miller; stepmother, Wilma Miller; and niece, Kristi Miller.
