Dawn Rutzen age 67 of Ashton, Iowa passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home in Ashton.
There will be a Celebration of Life March 25, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Building in Ashton.
Dawn Lynn Rutzen was born August 7, 1955, the daughter of Arthur and Lois (Wills) May in Sibley, Iowa. She grew up in Sibley and attended the Sibley Public School district.
Dawn was united in marriage to Raymond Rutzen on February 17, 1973, in Sibley. They lived in Ashton the majority of their 50 years together. They were blessed with 3 children, Tori, Jason & Ashley.
She worked at Corbett Plumbing in Ashton for 20+ years. She was a member of the Ashton Town & Country Club. Dawn enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, playing cards, camping, and watching her grandchildren grow. She loved spending quality time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Ray; children, Tori (Chad) Redinius of Hospers, IA, Jason Rutzen of Paullina, IA, Deann Rutzen of Sheldon, IA, Ashley (Mark) Callenius of Hospers, IA; five grandchildren, Katlyn Redinius, Shawn Rutzen, Caleb, Mason, and Hunter Callenius; sister, Tami (Todd) Sampson of Worthington, MN; along with extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lois May; brother, Craig May; sister, Brenda Howard; along with many loved ones.
