Debra "Debi" Ann Spangler

Rock Rapids, Iowa 

     Debra “Debi” Ann Spangler, age 53, peacefully passed in her sleep on January 12, 2023, at her home in Rock Rapids, IA. Debi was born June 24, 1969, to Ronald and Carolyn (Bobnock) Spangler in Jackson, Michigan.

     Debi attended Western District Schools in Jackson County, Michigan, where she participated and excelled in several sports. She was especially proud of her wrestling accomplishments, including being a female in a male dominated sport.

     Though short lived, Debi worked in health care and found purpose aiding others. She was caring and kind-hearted.

     Debi was a people person, and her glowing personality afforded her many friends. She enjoyed watching movies and crime drama shows; liked frog figurines; and loved her fur babies' “Psycho,” “Monkey,” and “Dog;” all of whom provided her great entertainment and companionship through the years. Debi enjoyed romantic dinners and she was a good cook too; she made some mighty tender Swiss steak.

     Debi is survived by her “Daddy,” Ronald Spangler Sr and her stepmother, Eileen; her brother Ron Spangler Jr and sister-in-law Chris; and her nephew, Zachary Spangler. Debi is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; as well as former husband Brent Lytle; special friend Dennis Morton, and lifelong friend Robyn Phebus to whom Debi remained loyal. Debi will be missed, but she is forever in our hearts and her spirit lives on.

     Debi was preceded in death by her mom Carolyn (Bobnock) Dodge; grandparents Alva and Ruth Spangler, and Charlie and Margaret Bobnock.

     Debi has been cremated. A memorial and/or burial service will commence on a future date to be determined.
