     Dennis Folkens age 59 of Rock Rapids, IA died suddenly on February 5, 2021, at his residence in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Dennis Wayne Folkens, age 59, passed away on Friday, February 5^th, 2021. Dennis was born to JoAnn De Berg-Folkens and Pete Folkens in Rock Rapids, Iowa on August 8^th, 1961.

     Dennis graduated from Central Lyon in 1980 where he was an honors student and played basketball and track throughout high school. He received the Citizenship award his senior year.

     Dennis was a dedicated worker and spent 37 years employed at Denny’s Sanitation. In addition, Dennis had side business providing lawn care and snow removal for many of the local residents. He spent his whole adult life an avid sports fan including cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Notre Dame Irish football teams. In his spare time, he also enjoyed listening to Rod Stewart music, cheering on AJ Almindinger racing; however, Dennis was his happiest playing on the golf course with friends.

     Dennis leaves behind one child, Anthony of Chicago, IL. He also has four remaining siblings along with nephews, nieces, and many special friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, JoAnn and Pete and brother, Dean Folkens.
