Dennis "Happy" Henry Boneschans

Bigelow, MN   

     Dennis “Happy” Boneschans age 77 of Bigelow, MN died Friday, August 13, 2021, at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Sibley, IA.   

     Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, with Pastor Doug Noonkester officiating.   

     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

     In lieu of flower memorials are preferred.  

     Dennis Henry Boneschans was born on September 17, 1943, in Sibley, IA, the son of Henry and Bertha (Lyle) Boneschans.  He grew up in Ashton and attended country school there, then at the age of twelve he and his family moved to Bigelow, MN.   Dennis attended Bigelow public school through the ninth grade.   

     At the age of seventeen he moved with his friend Arnie Kramer to California and while he lived there, he worked for a tree service.  For several years Dennis wintered in Texas.  In 2005, he moved back to Bigelow.  He was a member of the American Legion of Bigelow.  He loved to fish, go to casinos, enjoyed fixing things and attending his niece and nephews’ activities.   

     Dennis is survived by three siblings, Donald (Marlene) Boneschans of Crestview, FL, Doug (Judy) Boneschans of Bigelow, MN and Joy Fennell of Crosby, ND; special family, Amelia (wife of the late Arnie) Cramer of Norco, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.   

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha Boneschans; five brothers; one sister; his best friend, Arnie Cramer; and seven half-sisters and two half-brothers.
