Donni Jay Bugay

     Donni Bugay, age 49, of Larchwood, IA died on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his home in Larchwood, IA.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19^th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a time for sharing of memories at 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA.

     Family and friends are invited to gather at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and go in procession to the Riverview Cemetery for committal service. There will also be a time of sharing and refreshments at the funeral home following the committal service.

     Donni Jay Bugay was born October 7, 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Clarence J. and Mary Ann (Gross) Bugay. He was raised in the Omaha area and received his high school diploma at Omaha South High School. As a youngster he was a pin boy for the Chops’ Bowling Alley in Omaha, NE.

     Donni was united in marriage to Tina Johnson on July 18, 1996. They began living in Sibley, IA, where they were blessed with four children. Later he moved to Bigelow, MN for several years before they moved to Larchwood, IA in 2013. Donni worked for Redwood Farms in Sibley, IA and Nasers Inc. in Bigelow, MN, where he worked with pigs for 30 years. He most recently worked as a surveillance supervisor at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, IA.

     He enjoyed his time working with pork industry and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Star Wars fan. Special moments in his life were walking his oldest daughter, Kathy down the aisle, watching his four children graduate from high school, watching his youngest child, Isabelle beginning her college career and meeting his granddaughter, Tessa, who he adored.

     He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Tina Bugay of Larchwood, IA; four children, Katherine (Nate) Kassel of Rock Rapids, IA, Sabrina R. Bugay of Webb City, IA, John M. Bugay of Sheldon, IA and Isabelle A. Bugay of Sibley, IA; one granddaughter, Tessa Kassel; one brother, Mike (Melissa) Bugay of Bellevue, NE; two sisters, Amy (Nick) Jankowski of Omaha, NE and Annie Bugay of Omaha, NE; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Bugay and Mary Ann Plendl; paternal grandparents, John and Rose Bugay; two cousins, Paul and Russ Zywiec.
