Dorin L. “Wolfie” DeBerg, age 60, of Little Rock, Iowa died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley, IA.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA, with Pastor Chris Lemmon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock.
Visitation will be Monday, September 14th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM with the family present at First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
Dorin Lee DeBerg was born October 17, 1959 at Rock Rapids, Iowa the son of Edna (Broesder) and Martin DeBerg. Dorin was raised in Little Rock and was known to everyone as Wolfie.
He was employed by A&I for the past 10 years. He was an active member of the Little Rock Town & Country helping with field prep and anywhere else he was needed. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Little Rock Fire and Rescue Department. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church as an usher for Sunday services. He loved watching WWE wrestling and collected cars and trucks.
He cherished spending time with friends Merlin and Kris VerSteeg at the casino or just hanging out with their family. He also helped out the station by running for parts and supplies. He really enjoyed his dinners with friends Pam Butler, Kristine DeKoning and Duane Netten.
Wolfie was a man of few words. He would give you anything and expect nothing in return. He loved his nieces and nephews and adored the VerSteeg children. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
Dorin died on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Sibley Hospital from a massive heart attack at the age of 60. He is survived by his mother Edna DeBerg of Little Rock; his sister and brother-in-law Monica and Rob Peace of Maumee, OH; his nephews and nieces Robbie, Maddison, Khalil and Kendall Peace of Maumee, OH; his aunts and uncles – Edgar (Bev) Broesder, Gertie (Darrell) Boyenga, Katie Klaassen, Beverly Luitjens, Henrietta Lupkes, Allen (Deb) Broesder, Tena Dirks, Dale (CC) Broesder, Ruby Johannes; the VerSteeg family and many cousins and close friends.
Dorin was preceded in death by his father Martin; his brother David; his grandparents Ed & Gert Broesder and Jake & Verna DeBerg. Blessed be his memory!
