Douglas Ray Baumgarn

     Doug Baumgarn age 62 of Ocheyedan, IA died Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home.

     Per Doug’s request, no services will be held. He asked to be remembered with a raised glass and a good story with friends.  

     Douglas Ray “Buggy” Baumgarn was born May 6th, 1959, in Sibley, IA, son of Adella (Lux) Baumgarn and Donald Baumgarn. Doug was raised in Ocheyedan and graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1977.
     Doug enjoyed spending time with friends telling stories and sharing a drink. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of the country and the simple pleasure of relaxing with a newspaper after a hard day of work.
Doug was devoted to his family and worked hard his entire life to provide for them. He was also loyal to his friends and was always the first to offer help or give you the shirt off his back.
     Throughout his life he worked as a farmer and retired from CFE as a feed truck driver.

     He will be remembered by his sons Ryan Baumgarn and Jason (Julie) Baumgarn, two brothers, Bruce (Katie) and Gary Baumgarn (Connie), sister Julie (Gary) Tracy, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.     

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Margie.
