Frank Julius age 83, of Sibley, IA died Friday, October 26, 2018, at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30th at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA with Rev. Terry Simm and Pastor Maggie Gisch, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock, IA.
Visitation will be Monday, October 29th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.
Francis Dale “Frank” Julius was born February 25, 1935, on a farm near Little Rock, IA, the son of Claus and Anna (Schoneman) Julius. Frank grew up in Osceola County and attended Viola Township Country School and also Sibley Community School. On October 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Audrey (Jans) at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore, MN. Frank and Audrey made their home and farmed near Sibley, IA from 1953 until 1981, at which time they moved into Sibley. Frank and Audrey were the custodians at the First Presbyterian Church for twenty-nine years. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley. Frank enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, along with cooking, going to casinos, playing cards and visiting with anyone he met. As Frank’s health declined he became a resident of Country View Manor in Sibley, where he died this past Friday afternoon, October 26th at the age of eighty-three.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Audrey of Sibley; their children, Carol Reiter and her friend, Reggie Ommen of Sibley; Deb Willemssen of Lennox, SD; Brad (Linda) Julius of Sibley; Stacy (Duke) Marco of Ocheyedan and Scott (Karey) Julius of Sibley; 19 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Henry (Esther) Julius of Rock Rapids; Genevieve Lutterman of Fulda, MN; Leo (Faye) Julius of Rushmore, MN; Shirlene Grote of Sibley and sister-in-law, Marcella Julius of Sibley.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Claus and Anna Julius; son, Merlyn Julius; granddaughter, Tiffany Marco; grandson, Christopher Julius; great grandson, Logun Moeller and great granddaughter, Kamren Julius; sisters, Marie (Lloyd) Timmons; Marlee (Jack) Hoffman; brother, George Julius; father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Ellen Jans; and brothers-in-law, George Lutterman and Lawrence Grote.
