Frieda Anna Eckhoff was born March 22, 1925 on a farm near Henning, Minnesota, the daughter of Claus and Bena (Klever) Eckhoff. She graduated from Henning High School.

On March 5, 1944, Frieda was united in marriage to Herman Harders. They lived on a farm Northeast of Melvin until 1967, when they moved to a farm West of Bigelow, Minnesota.

She helped Herman with all the duties on the farm, including livestock chores, driving tractors, hauling and unloading grain, and raising chickens. She enjoyed working outside and mowing the lawn. She was a hardworking lady who was very proud of her garden and all the years of canning and freezing of her vegetables. Her family remembers all the delicious bread and buns she baked. Frieda enjoyed being involved in the Ladies group at Trinity Lutheran and helping with the soup and pie suppers. She also enjoyed dancing, listening to RFD and Lawrence Welk shows and visiting with friends and neighbors. She spent many mornings making a good breakfast for her grandchildren, who she babysat often. Frieda spent a lot of time with her family, they meant so much to her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Doreen Braun of Sibley, IA, and Lois (Dean) Clausen of Springfield, MN; grandchildren, Jamie (Heidi) Blochowitz of Little Rock, IA, Jason Blochowitz of George, IA, Lori Blochowitz of Tracy, MN, Brian (Kim) Clausen of Fairbault, MN, and Shawn (Connie) Clausen of Comfrey, MN; 13 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Eckhoff; along with many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman; infant son, Carl; son-in-law, Jerry Braun; granddaughter, Kaliegh Jones; sisters, Reka (Elroy) Pieper; Marie (Melvin Dreyer, Bill More) Dreyer More; brothers, Albert (Charlotte) Eckhoff and Ray Eckhoff; and one infant sister.
