Gwendolyn A. Sells, age 92 of Hills, MN died Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 9th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, with Rev. Maggie Berndt-Dreyer officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.

Gwendolyn Ann Sells was born February, 5 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Jacob and Mabel (Anderson) Sells. At the age of three her family moved to a farm near Beaver Creek, MN. Gwendolyn attended Beaver Creek Community School and graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1944. She continued her education at Luther College in Decorah, IA and transferred to Iowa State in Ames, IA, graduating in 1949.
Gwendolyn began her teaching career, teaching Home Economics in Ocheyedan and Cleghorn, IA, and Cannon Falls and Bloomington, MN. She then moved to Colorado where she taught and completed her Master’s Degree for Counseling and Guidance. She was a Counselor at Cherry Creek High School and Smoky Hill High School, until her retirement in 1989.
She was involved with many organizations including Tall Club International and Timberline Tall Club, Colorado School Counselors Association, Vocational Education Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sweet Adelines and Sons of Norway. She also was active with her church choir and Busy Bee Quilters. Gwen enjoyed reading, Rosemaling (Norwegian painting,) needlework, crossword puzzles and knitting. Gwen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN.
Gwen resided in Lakewood, CO until 2012, when she returned to Hills, MN and resided at Tuff Village. In January of 2018 she moved to the Tuff Home, due to failing health.
Gwen is survived by her sister, Barbara (Jack) Pollei of Fond du Lac, WI; sister-in-law, Joyce Sells of Sioux Falls, SD; and nieces and nephews:Steven Pollei (Solveig), Scott Pollei, Sheila (Mark) Flucke, Spencer (Pam) Sells, David (Ronda) Sells, Jacob Daniel (Vicki) Sells Thomas (Donarae) Sells Cindy (Brian) Hook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mabel Sells; and her brother, Jacob Sells Jr.
