Harold was united in marriage to Lynn A. Soderquist on February 6, 1965. The couple lived on the Schram family farm and continued farming for many years. Through the years Harold took great pride in raising crops and caring for his livestock. He insisted on completing his final harvest in the fall of 2006. In December of that year he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.  A difficult decision was made to sell the acreage and move to Sibley in 2015. He also enjoyed working with Brother’s In Blue in the prison ministries. He also participated in The Passion Play for many years and enjoyed attending the Promise Keepers events. Harold was very handy with fixing and repurposing things. Harold and Lynn spent time Square Dancing in many dance halls all over the region. He also served as caller for many square-dancing events. Harold and Lynn always found time to take family vacations. Yearly trips for Harold and Lynn continued as they toured various parts of the United States and abroad. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Harold will be remembered for his sense of humor, always ready to share a joke.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynn Schram of Sibley, IA; three children, David (Nancy) Schram of Bemidji, MN, Deb (Joel) Hellinga of Lake Park, IA and Pam (David) Kroeger of West Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mae (Albert) Brouwer of Slayton, MN; two sisters-in-law Jennie Schram and Ellen Schram, both of Sibley, IA; a brother-in-law Rev.
