     Harold Wittrock age 98 of Rock Rapids, IA died Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 10^th at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Alex Sloter officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  Funeral Service Link

     Visitation will be Tuesday, November 9^th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church.

     Harold Richard Wittrock was born on Christmas day in 1922 on a farm Southwest of Rock Rapids, the son of Richard and Bertha (Kock) Wittrock.  He grew up South of Rock Rapids and attended Country School through the 8^th grade.

     On July 8, 1948 Harold was united in marriage to Arlene Stoltenberg in Rock Island, Illinois.  They farmed south of Rock Rapids and moved into town in 1982.  Harold continued to farm until 1989.  Arlene passed away on April 26, 1996.

     Harold was a member of Lakewood Lutheran Church South of Rock Rapids before becoming a member of Peace Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing and farming.  He took great pride in his lawn and kept it immaculate until July of this year.  His family also remembers his love of dancing with Arlene and playing Pinochle. 

     Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Denese (Paul) Sindt of Rock Rapids, IA, Diane (Randy) Ronning of Alcester, SD, and Karen of Dell Rapids, SD; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Velda Loger of Rock Rapids, IA; along with many extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard in 1968 and Bertha in 2001; his wife of 48 years Arlene in 1996; brothers, Orlyn in 1939 and Melvin in 1999; sister, Lois in 2004; and son-in-law, Diane’s late husband, Larry Wiekamp in 1982.
