Harry Faber

Harry Faber age 79 formerly of Rock Rapids, Iowa died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his residence, Legacy Estates, in Lincoln, NE. 

Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with a memorial service following the visitation. 

A graveside service will take place Wednesday, October 27th at the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids at 10:30 AM. 

Harry Weldon Faber was born on June 7, 1942 to William and Marie (Van Goor) Faber in his parents’ farmhouse by Doon, Iowa. He was raised in Rock Rapids. He was part of the first graduating class of the newly formed Central Lyon High School class of 1960.  He was united in marriage to Judy Hansmann on December 27, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in George, Iowa. They lived in rural George, Iowa and Harry worked for Hubbard Implement in Rock Rapids, Iowa. They then moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa and worked at Samuelson Motors before farming for 20 plus years. In October of 2017 they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to family. 

He enjoyed bragging about his grandkids and watching car races. He was known for talking on the phone to his friends and family and especially enjoyed his phone visits with his cousin Elaine (Faber) Ruff, whose families lived together in their younger years. He will be remembered by his family as being generous, always smiling and ready to tease his grandchildren and lastly a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, and brother. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Gina (Kelly) Heath of Lincoln, NE, son Brett (Stacie) Faber of Aurora, NE; 6 grandchildren, Zachary (Crystal) Heath, Kayla (Connor) Farrell, Alyssa Faber, Paige (Aaron) Vinkenberg, Lexie Faber and Dane Faber; 3 great grandchildren, Zoe, Jack and Zane Heath; brother, Will (Jackie) Faber, sister Lori (Bob) Davis; sister-in-law, LeAnn Faber; aunt, Eldora Krull; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie; in-laws, Elmer Hansmann and Lila Hansmann; brother, Billy Faber; brother, Verlyn and sister- in-law, Linda Faber.
