     Henrietta Haak, age 85 of Hills, MN died Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN.

     Private funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 17^th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, MN, with Rev. Alan Camarigg officiating. Burial will follow at the United Reformed Cemetery in Hills.

     Public visitation will be Friday, October 16^th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills. Family will not be present. Social distancing protocols will be followed. In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Hills Christian School.

     Henrietta Mae Haak was born on February 6, 1935 in Rock Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Rolena (Moorlag) Veltkamp. She was raised in Rock Valley and attended the Christian School. She worked at the Rock Valley Bakery for five years.

     She was united in marriage to Gerald Haak on December 3, 1954 at the Christian Reformed Church in Hills, MN. They moved to Hills, MN and Henrietta worked at Fikse’s Produce in Hills from 1954 to 1956. She worked part time in the Hills Locker that was owned by her husband Gerald and brother-in-law Albert Haak. She was a homemaker and provided childcare for others. After family was grown, she began working at Tuff Memorial Home in the housekeeping department, retiring after 20 years.

     Henrietta was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Hills, active with the Esther Circle and Willing Workers, she also volunteered at the Christian School, helping with the Cash for Trash program. She enjoyed crocheting names and crafts for craft shows, and baking apple pies for the farmer’s market and traveling.

     On March 16, 2012, Henrietta’s husband, Gerald died unexpectedly. She then moved from her home to the Tuff Memorial independent apartments. She resided there for a couple years. Then due to her health she moved to the Tuff Village assisted living and resided there for a couple years then move to the Tuff Memorial Home January/2017.

     She is survived by her four children, Charlene (husband, Doug) Leuthold of Rock Rapids, IA, Larry (wife, Deb) Haak, Darla (husband, Brian) Kraayenhof, both of Hills, MN and Rhonda Haak (special friend Mitzie) of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Brad Haak of Hills, MN, Derek (wife, Erin) Haak of Brandon, SD, Christopher (wife, Erica) Leuthold of Rock Rapids, IA, Sara Leuthold of Ellsworth, MN, Adam Leuthold and Brent Leuthold, both of Rock Rapids, IA, Nicole Kraayenhof Sioux Falls SD, and Kaitlyn Kraayenhof Little Rock, IA three great-grandchildren, Emersen and Elliree Haak and Lucas Leuthold; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Rolena Veltkamp; sister, Grace Jacobsma and Jean Vande Kamp; brother, Dick Veltkamp; and brother-in-law, Peter Jacobsma.
