     Henry Zoet Jr. age 91 of Rock Rapids, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at his daughter’s residence in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

     Henry Zoet Jr. was born August 5, 1930, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zoet Sr., who came from Holland by boat for new freedoms and prosperity.

     Henry received his education from Central Lyon school system. During this time, being a farm boy, he worked with his parents as they rented farm ground; taking care of stock cows, milk cows, farrowing hogs and all the rest included to be successful. Sometime after his school years, Henry met a loving woman, Wava June Smythe.

     Shortly after, Henry was called to duty by the United States Armed Services. He was called September 8, 1948 to September 7, 1949.  During this time of his first term, Henry and Wava gave promise to each other to be wed for life. Henry and Wava were united in marriage on June 29, 1951. His second call to duty was October 11, 1950 to June 1951.  

     Henry and Wava moved to a farm Northeast of Rock Rapids. Their first child, Lowell was born April 12, 1953. A few years later, on June 5, 1959, the family was complete with the birth of their daughter, Roscha.

     Henry and Wava were passionate in teaching Love and Kindness to their children. Throughout life they reminded their children and others that kindness along with goodness overcomes all things.

     Henry is survived by his daughter, Roscha Zoet of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Lowell (Glenda) of Rock Rapids, IA; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Zoet of Hutchison, MN, Katie (Joshua) Eaton of Spring Valley, MN, Kayla Zoet of Mound City, IL and twin sister Keri of Hutchison, MN; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob, Jordyn, and Lyllith; 2 sisters, Jeanette (Richard) Van Wettering of Enumclaw, WA and Evelyn (Jerry) Larson of Eden Prairie, MN.

     Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Wava; sister, Henrietta (John) Appel of Rock Rapids and brother, Garret Zoet of Illinois.
