NOTICE: Sibley, IA

     Inez Haken age 91 of Sibley, Iowa died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Country View Manor in Sibley.

     A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM Friday, December 4, 2020 at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA with Rev. Barry Wynveen officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock.

     Visitation will also take place at the church on Thursday December 3^rd from 4 PM to 7 PM. Due to the concerns with Covid-19 the family will not be present at the visitation.

   Masks and Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

    Inez Jean Haken was born July 23, 1929 in Sibley, IA to Martin and Jennie (Sterler) Hinrichs.  She was raised on the family farm near Little Rock, IA.  After her high school education, she entered Normal School and received her teaching certificate.  She taught for eighteen years between 1947 and 1965, nine years in country school and another nine in the Little Rock School system at the elementary level. On April 2, 1965 she was united in marriage to Albert Haken at the Salem Reformed Church.  They made their home on the family farm and raised their children there too.  Albert passed away in 1987 and Inez remained on the farm until 1992 when she moved to her house in Little Rock.  She worked at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sheldon from 1986 until her retirement in 1991.  Inez enjoyed cross stitching, reading, attending grandchildren’s activities, being with family, gardening and completing word searches.  She was a lifelong member of Salem Reformed Church.  She loved her church and served as Sunday school teacher, catechism teacher and a Willing Workers group member.  Additionally, Inez loved her family immensely and spent as much time with them as she could.  Her children’s and grandchildren’s activities were always a priority and she attended as many as possible. They will hold fond and loving memories of their mom and grandmother all their lives. This past Sunday, November 29^th Inez passed away at Country View Manor Nursing Home in Sibley, IA at the age of 91. She will be greatly missed.

     She is survived by daughter, Nancy (Kevin) Soat of Sibley, IA and their children, Kyle, Ryan and Troy; son, Mark (Amy) Haken of Sibley, IA and their children, Joshua, Matthew and Lindsey; and daughter, Judy Haken of Little Rock, IA.

     Inez was preceded in death by parents, Martin and Jennie Hinrichs; husband Albert; infant son, Albert Ray; and sister, Sylvia (Fred) Duin.
