Jim was admired by many friends and family members and he was a great role model with his hardworking nature and willingness to lend a helping hand. At the young age of 17, Jim showed his dedication to our country by joining the Marines and was willing to sacrifice his life for our freedom.

He then went on to work for the Wood County Sherrif’s Department in West Virginia, promoting to the rank of Captain.

His patriotism never wavered even after his military service as he participated in 20 Midwest Honor Flight missions, welcoming home his brothers and sisters in the military as they arrived on their flights back to the United States.

Jim married Linda Dagel Jones on May 25, 2018, and they shared a robust life together until he passed in their home on September 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Together, Jim and Linda enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing on their pontoon boat, music and playing pinochle.
