Steen, MN 

     Jason Kroon age 47 of Steen, MN passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 due to complications of a sudden illness at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, May 7^th at Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN with Rev. Jeremy Wiersma officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Steen.

     Visitation will be Sunday, May 6^th from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Steen Reformed Church in Steen.

     Jason John Kroon was born June 7, 1970 in Luverne, MN to John and Emilene (Van Hill) Kroon. He received his education in Hills Beaver Creek and graduated in 1989. He continued his education at Canby Vo Tech College in Canby, MN studying diesel mechanics. Jason worked on Bobcat equipment for Pfeifers Implement and also at UPS airsort as a tug driver. On September 27, 2014 he was united in marriage to Heather Bush at Jason’s parent’s farm. The couple made their home on Jason’s childhood acreage near Steen.

     Jason was a very kind man who loved his family deeply. He looked for things to do with his family and friends that would bring them all together and build lasting memories. He loved camping, kayaking and tinkering with his tractors. He saw off-roading with Heather in their side by side as a special and coveted time he could spend with his wife. He was a warmhearted man who loved people. He was known to take a lot of pictures of his family and friends because he wanted to preserve special memories of those he loved. And by the way, he took to Snap Chat like a pro. There were no strangers with Jason, just friends he hadn’t cultivated yet. Jason’s outgoing demeanor and quick wit allowed him to make many friends over the years and touch many lives in meaningful ways. He will be fondly remembered by many and dearly missed by all.

     He is survived by his loving wife Heather of Steen, MN; children, Dallas Kroon of Mankato,MN, Chelsea Kroon and her friend Steven Tacke of Dell Rapids, SD, Dillan Kroon and special friend Cheyanne Cherry of Sioux Falls, SD, Zachery (Emily) Cowell of Luverne, MN, Kellsie (Alex) Rivas of Harrisburg, SD and Riley Cowell of Luverne, MN; grandchildren, Hattie Emilene, Aniyah Rivas, Ajayda Rivas, Jayce Cowell and Kodac Rivas; sisters, Kristy (Randy) Goembel of Luverne, MN, Vicki (Bruce) Bennett of Weare, NH, Heidi (James) Mehlhaff of Luverne, MN and Emmy (Drue) Glaze of Little Falls, MN; parents, John and Emilene Kroon of Steen, MN; mother-in-law, Deb Bush of Luverne, MN; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Seth, Sara, Elias, Kylie, Noah, Regan and Dawson

     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Alice Van Hill; paternal grandparents, Herman and June Kroon.
