     John C. Vos, age 78 of Sibley, IA died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

CORRECTION TO TIME AND DATE OF SERVICES

     Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15^th at First Reformed Church of Sibley, IA, with Rev. Luke Schouten officiating. Burial will follow at the Holman Township Cemetery.

     Family will greet guests for a time of visitation at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

     John Calvin Vos was born June 6, 1941 in Sioux Center, IA to Jake and Johanna (Van Engen) Vos. When John was a young man his family moved to Sibley, IA. On December 28, 1964 he was united in marriage to Faye Kruse at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA. The couple have lived their entire married lives in the same house in Sibley. To this marriage two children were born, Marne and Joel. John worked as a dispatcher for the Osceola Sheriff’s office in Sibley. He was a loving man who truly enjoyed spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren were the pride of his life. John enjoyed fishing, wood working and gardening.

     He is survived by his wife, Faye Vos of Sibley, IA; daughter, Marne (Bryce) Strasser and their children, Mahli and Abbie all of Lennox, SD; son, Joel (Kristy) Vos and their children, Jacob and Mackenzie all of Spirit Lake, IA; brother Robert (Norma) Vos of Sibley, IA; sisters-in-law, Linda Schuett of Sheldon and Julie Kruse of Ruston, LA; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

     John was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Johanna; parents-in-law, Henry and Martha Kruse; brothers-in-law, Burdell Kruse, John Kenninger and Merle Schuett; nephew, Bobby Kenninger and grandnephew, AJ Grizzel.
