     Karen Sprock, age 69 of Rock Rapids, IA died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, surrounded by her family, at the Rock Rapids Health Center of Rock Rapids, Iowa.

     Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29^th at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, with Rev. Dan Haggar & Pastor Darin Feikema officiating.

     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with the family present, at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

     Karen Lynn Sprock was born on March 4, 1949 in Rock Rapids, IA, the daughter of William L. and Alice (Jongerius) Feikema. She grew up in Rock Rapids and later graduated from Central Lyon High School. After graduating from high school Karen married her high school sweetheart Charles “Chuck” Lancaster. The couple moved to California, while stationed at Beale Airforce Base and son Paul Lancaster (Sprock) was born. After Charles was killed in active service, Karen and Paul then returned home to Rock Rapids, where she married Richard “Dick” Sprock Jr. and daughter Jacalyn Sprock was born. Their marriage ended, and Karen and children lived in various places until finding their way back home to Rock Rapids.

     She then lived out her life with her family, children and grandchildren. She attended Stewart School of Cosmetology for two years. Karen then practiced cosmetology for a time and later did social work. Karen was very artistic, creative and had an eye for design. She loved flowers, gardening, reading, cooking and her favorite color was red. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and nieces and nephews. Trademarks of Karen were diet coke, red fingernails, fun hair and jewelry.

     Karen is survived by two children, Paul Victor Sprock of Rock Rapids, IA and Jacalyn Jean (John Eugene) Gacke of Carthage, MO; her mother, Alice Feikema of Rock Rapids, IA; three grandchildren: Austin James Gacke, Brandon John Gacke and Caitlin Alice Gacke; four sibling: Jean (Jim) Klinkenborg of Sibley, IA, Lois (Craig) Block of Little Rock, IA, Wayne (Judy) Feikema of Rock Rapids, IA, Darin (Lori) Feikema of Norwalk, IA; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by infant brother, Jon Eric Feikema; husband, Charles Lancaster; and her father, William L. Feikema.
