     Kathryn “Kathy” Gross-Edelman age 67 formerly of Little Rock, Iowa, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Monday, February 20, 2023, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, Iowa.

     Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA, with Reverend Steve Anderson officiating.

     Burial will be sometime in the spring in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock.

     Visitation will be Monday February 27^th, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.   

     Kathryn Gross was born on May 16, 1955, in Sibley, IA, the daughter of LeRoy and Delores (Hayenga) Gross.  She grew up in Little Rock and later graduated from Little Rock High School.  Following her graduation, she attended a college in Fort Dodge for two years.  On November 6, 1999, Kathy was united in marriage to Brian Edelman.  The couple lived in Sioux City, IA for a time and then moved to Sioux Falls, SD.  She worked as the Director of Education at PECH Optical Corp in Sioux City, IA.

     She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, SD.  She enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, putting puzzles together, watching hockey and football on TV, and volunteering at VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity).  She also enjoyed their time on the farm, NFR, and traveling for eyecare in general.  She loved Storm Mountain in the Black Hills.  She liked taking her nieces to the Musketeers hockey games and letting them ride around on the scooters.  Their house was almost like a hotel some weekends.  Anyone who knew Kathy knows she had the biggest heart and funniest personality; her smile could light up a room!   She will be greatly missed.

     Left to cherish her memory is her husband of twenty-three years, Brian Edelman of Sibley, IA; two brothers, Mark Gross (fiancé Rebecca Whitacre) of Little Rock, IA and Michael Gross of Rock Rapids, IA; three nieces, Taylor Gross, Jennifer Gerdes and Kara Whitacre; three nephews, Barry Gross, Andrew Gross and Billy Gross; and great nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Delores Gross; and brother, Merlin Gross.
