Kathy Ann Beschorner-Reinders

Winnebago, MN/Graettinger, IA

     Kathy Beschorner-Reinders, age 72 of Winnebago, MN, formerly of Graettinger, IA, died after a long battle with lung cancer on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato, MN.

     Due to the mandated health care precautions, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date and the family requests that memorials be delayed until the day of the service.

     Kathleen Ann was born November 12, 1947 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of John “Smoky” and Eda (Rasmussen) Clemenson. She was raised in Graettinger, Iowa and attended the community school.

     She was united in marriage to Bob Beschorner on June 7, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Graettinger. They made their home in Graettinger and were blessed with three children, Scott, Cory and Stacey. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger.

     While raising her children, Kathy worked at Berkley’s in Spirit Lake, IA and SNC in Emmetsburg. She also did house cleaning and babysitting for area families. She most recently worked at EPS in Graettinger until she retired in 2002.

     On October 20, 2004 Kathy’s husband of 39 years, Bob, died after a lengthy battle with cancer. She continued living in Graettinger, staying active with community activities.

     On September 27, 2008 Kathy married Jay Reinders at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They made their home in Winnebago, MN, where Kathy was a member of the Winnebago United Methodist Church.

     Through the years Kathy enjoyed many activities such as spending time with family, having coffee with her friends, shopping for antiques and watching old movies and she loved flowers. She also loved dancing and listening to Jay sing.

     Kathy was diagnosed with lung cancer in February of 2013 and courageously battled until April 2, 2020.

     She is survived by her husband, Jay Reinders of Winnebago, MN; two sons, Scott (wife Angie) Beschorner of Farmington, MN and Cory (wife Shanay) Beschorner of Binghamton, NY; a daughter, Stacey (husband Mike Tordsen) Beschorner of North Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Jordan, Elizabeth, Tyler, Mekayla, Alyssa and Stacey’s fur babies; and two great-grandchildren. Kathy is also survived by Jay's children, Amy (Kevin) Allin, Jon (Lina) Reinders, Jason (Carrie) Reinders and Matt (Erin) Reinders; and 8 grandchildren, who all adored their "Nana Kathy"; four sisters, Lenor Jensen of Estherville, IA, Delores (husband Bob) Barringer of Spencer, IA, Marlys Daniels of Des Moines, IA, and Judy Garrelts of Ayrshire, IA and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eda Clemenson; husband, Bobby Beschorner; and a sister, Elaine Richardson.
