NOTICE: LARCHWOOD

Connie Finch, 73 of Larchwood, Iowa formerly Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Connie was born on August 11th, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Franklyn and Barbara Finch, She attended Des Moines East High School, and then beauty school. She was a hair dresser in the Des Moines area for 37 years.

 She was blessed with a daughter, Shawna in 1981 who was her whole world. Connie was a kind person with a big heart who loved her family and friends dearly. She had a love of sports and was a proud supporter of the Des Moines Buccaneers hockey team. She also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and sprint car racing. She never knew a stranger and if you were a friend or not; she would do anything for you.

Most recently; Connie moved to Larchwood, Iowa to be closer to her daughter and her family. She had a love for her grandkids that was like no other, and loved watching them in any activity that they participated in.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Shawna (Chris) Hickman of Larchwood, IA, her grandchildren, Austin and Kylie Hickman. Her two brothers, Doug (Melissa) Finch of Altoona, Iowa and Dave (Jennie) Finch of Des Moines, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklyn and mother Barbara Finch, her sister Judy Bimbi.

A celebration of life will be held in Des Moines at a later date.
