Kenneth Koerselman, age 78 of George, IA passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Due to the mandated health care precautions, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth Eugene Koerselman was born on August 20, 1941 in George, IA, the son of Dick and Rhoda (Willemssen) Koerselman. He grew up in George and later graduated from the George Public High School in 1959. He attended DeVry University in Chicago, IL for a year in the electrical program.
On October 18, 1963 he was united in marriage to Janice Martens at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA. The couple farmed near George and to this union their son Paul was born.
Kenneth was a farmer for most of his life but also had other jobs such as working for the George Coop, running the Bowling Alley in George for fourteen years and driving school bus for 17 years.
He was a member of Lyon County First Presbyterian Church rural George as a child and after getting married he became a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, where he served as a Trustee for several years. Because he liked to bowl, he had been a member of the Men’s Bowling Association.
Kenneth was an avid reader and especially enjoyed building things with his grandchildren, Jack and Carly. One of those things was making wooden cars.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Janice Koerselman of George, IA; son, Paul (Laurie) Koerselman of George, IA; two grandchildren, Jack Authur and Carly Ann Koerselman; five sisters, Esther (Bill) Van Dyke of Sioux City, IA, Carol (Gary) Plank of Ringgold, GA, Jan (Celso) Cruz of Denver, CO, Sue (Jim) Heemstra of Des Moines, IA, and Rebecca (Jim) Kaiser of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Rhoda Koerselman; and a brother in infancy, Donald Koerselman.
