Leland Jiskoot

July 26, 1955 — April 4, 2022

           Leland Jiskoot, age 66 of Boyden, Iowa died unexpectedly Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. where he was visiting his father who was hospitalized there at the time.

       Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Ebeneezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA with Pastor Brenda Stobbe officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM also at the Church in George. Interment will be in the Sheridan Township Cemetery, rural Boyden.

  Leland Paul Jiskoot was born on July 26, 1955 to Wilmer and Rose (Menning) Jiskoot at Orange City, Iowa.  Leland was baptized and confirmed in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George. He grew up on a farm Southwest of George and was a graduate of the George Community School. After High School he attended NIVS and received a degree in automotive service. Leland worked for a year in the automotive field until realizing his love and talents were in agricultural machinery repair.

     He was united in marriage to Jackie Rensink on August 18, 1976 in Boyden where the couple made their home. In January of 1985 he started Lee’s Repair so he could put into practice his love of machinery repair. Later he worked for White Wolf Web Printers in Sheldon and Diamond Vogel Paint in Orange City.

     Leland will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Grandpa “PaPa”. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, metal fabricating and tinkering in general. Leland also loved feeding the birds and wild animals around their place at Boyden.

     He is survived by his wife Jackie of Boyden, IA; his children Tara (Kevin) Johnson of Johnston, IA, and Justin (Karissa) Jiskoot of Marshall, MN; two grandchildren Ella and Easton Jiskoot; his father Wilmer Jiskoot of George; two brothers Arlan (Terri) and David Jiskoot both of Tulsa, OK.

     Leland was preceded in death by his mother Rose, his mother and father-in-law Leland and Annabelle Rensink and also a sister-in-law Nancy Jiskoot.  Blessed be the memory of Leland P. Jiskoot.
