      Lena Marbus age 90, of Hills, MN, died Friday, October 30, 2020, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Public visitation without the family present will be Sunday, November 1^st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, MN.

     Private funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2020, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, MN with Rev. Norm Bouwens officiating.  A live stream link: Lena's Service

     Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Valley Springs, SD.

     Lena Jean (Pap) Marbus was born November 23, 1929, on a farm near Beaver Creek, MN, the daughter of John and Wilhemina (Haverkamp) Pap.  Lena grew up on a farm near Valley Springs, SD, where she attended school.  Lena was united in marriage to Jake Marbus on June 4, 1947 at the Reformed Church in Valley Springs, SD.  She and Jake lived and farmed in the Hills, Minnesota area where they raised their daughter, Dianne.  Lena was a member of Valley Springs Reformed Church.  She enjoyed baking and sharing her treats at Christmas time.  Lena was a fun-loving grandma, who loved to play games, be silly, joke around and simply share her love for her family and friends.  There were so many memories that displayed her love for God, her family and life.  After 49 years of marriage, Jake died in 1997.  After Jake had gone home, Lena and a good friend, Gert Steinberg spent many days together and traveled to many places.  Lena was a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN since October of 2019.  This past Friday morning, Lena died at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 7 days at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

     She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Jean (Jack) Boatright of Hartford, SD; three granddaughters, Dawn (Thad) Wells of Sioux Falls, SD; Sandra (Bob) Peterson of Canova, SD and Pamela (Greg) Jensen of The Dalles, OR; eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

     Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Jake; four infants; parents, John and Wilhemina; sisters, Minnie Parmer; Margie Pap; Nellie Pap and Gertrude Marbus.
