Leona Eben age 90 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA.
Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4th at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA, with Reverend Luke Schouten officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. at the First Reformed Church, with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley.
Leona Pearl (Kruger) Eben was born August 30, 1928 to Henry and Clara Kruger. She lived with her parents on their farm near Ocheyedan, Iowa, and later moved into Sibley. She worked at the Osceola Electric Coop until she retired.
She married her very best friend, Delmer Eben, October 10, 1961. The two of them were a model of Christian marriage – loving and supporting each other through all of life’s joys and challenges. They were parted after 47½ years together, when Delmer left this world. Leona and Delmer raised their two daughters, Diane and Leanne, in Sibley and were members of the First Reformed Church. She was blessed with five grandchildren Jasmyn, Jordan, Quincy, Sawyer, and Lauren; five great grandchildren, Teegin, Jade, James, Tiberius and Lucious. Her family and friends feel so blessed to have had her in their lives for 90 years.
She is greeted in glory by Delmer, her parents, her three brothers, Ronald, Marvin and Robert, her sisters-in-law Margaret, Beverly and Betty, brothers-in-law Marvin, Tony and Dudley, her nieces Debbie and Karen and nephews Mark and Steve. and countless other friends and loved ones. Her strong faith and love of her family was reflected in her steadfast dedication to those she loved.
