Lori (Caswell) DeBuhr age 62 of Rock Rapids, IA died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her home in Rock Rapids, IA.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, March 4th at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Pastor Amy Ryals officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids.
Lori Ann DeBuhr was born September 25, 1959, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ruth (Bonnema) Caswell. She was raised on the family farm west of Rock Rapids. She attended Central Lyon High School and graduated in 1978.
Lori was united in marriage to Rich DeBuhr on September 8, 1979, in Rock Rapids. To this union two children were born, Tracy and Michelle. Through the years she worked at DGR and the Lyon County Title Company. She most recently worked at Avera McKennan Rehab in Brandon, SD where she made everyone who walked into her office feel welcome.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. She enjoyed gardening, canning, her annual Florida trips with Rich, and going on many shopping trips with her girls to Minneapolis. Lori was generous with her time and was always there for everyone who needed her. Lori was known for her hugs and her bright, beautiful smile that lit up a room. She had an ability to make anything look beautiful. She created a playground for her grandkids and her most favorite thing to do was sit on her porch and watch them play.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rich DeBuhr of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Tracy (Eric) Breuer and their children, Teeghan, Taryn and Tessa, of Rock Valley, IA and Michelle (Mac) McDowell and their children, Ava, Cole, Macie and Hattie of George, IA; six siblings, Bill (Phyllis) Caswell of Clive, IA, Karen (Jim) Long of Maplewood, MN, Jerry Caswell of Rock Rapids, IA, Pam (Dennis) Rode of Truman, MN, Linda (Bob) Stellinga of Sheldon, IA, and Bob (Kim) Caswell of Brandon, SD; two brothers-in-law, Ron (Sue) DeBuhr of Brooksfield, FL and Larry DeBuhr of Cathedral City, CA; sister-in-law, Jean Eggers of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Caswell; husband’s parents, Herman and Ethel DeBuhr; brother-in-law, Terry Eggers; and son-in-law, Christopher Kannegieter.
