   Lorraine Newman age 89 of Sibley, IA died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at home, with her family by her side.

     Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 4^th at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Terry Simm and Pastor Benjamin Hernandez officiating.

     Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, IA.

     Visitation will be Thursday, October 3^rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Lorraine Newman was born on August 25, 1930 in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Jake and Johanna (Heeren) Tjepkes. On June 25, 1947 she was united in marriage to Paul Newman. Lorraine and Paul settled on the Newman family farm where Lorraine cherished her time as a farmer’s wife. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her strong faith in God gave her the peace and courage to face her cancer.

     Lorraine is survived her children: Julie (Roger) Blank of Alexandria, MN and Nancy (Lanny) Lammers of Sibley, IA; five grandchildren: James (Tonia) Mc Clure of Cokato, MN, Alicia (Michael) Klimek of Alexandria, MN, Patricia (Bruce) Wiitanen of Alexandria, MN, Sarah (Pastor Benjamin) Hernandez of Holland, MI and Abby (Trevor) Duckett of Sibley, IA; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Viola Johnson of St. Michael, MN, Marian Boltjes of Ellsworth, MN and Leona Geerdes of Blackduck, MN; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Newman; granddaughter, Jillian Ida Lammers; son-in-law, James C. Mc Clure; three brothers: Luke Tjepkes, Martin Tjepkes and Harry Tjepkes; four sisters: Tina Rust, Johanna Gross, Fannie Nachtigal Lutjens and Kathryn Rosenberg.
