Louise “Momma Lou” Jacobsma, age 93 of Bigelow, MN died on Monday, November 15, 2021, at her home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, at the American Reformed Church Worthington, MN, with Pastor Alan Salwei officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Louise Henrietta Jacobsma was born on January 25, 1928, in George, IA, the daughter of Gerrett and Tillie (Feenstra) De Jong. She grew up in George and attended Wheeler Township country school. Louise attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, where she received her GED and a associates degree in Marketing. That is where she got her nickname, “Momma Lou”.
She was united in marriage to Milo Jacobsma in Sibley, IA. Louise worked as a salesperson selling siding and insulation for a time and then was a driver for Peoples Express.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Worthington, MN. Her hobbies included planting flowers, gardening and making jewelry.
Louise is survived by her two stepchildren, Carl Jacobsma of Columbus, OH and Clair (Glenda) Jacobsma of Phoenix, AZ; two children, Dennis (Jan) Jacobsma of Hospers, IA and Connie Wick of Bigelow, MN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two siblings, Tillie Rook of Rock Valley, IA and Arnold De Jong of Sioux City, IA; nieces, nephews other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milo Jacobsma on July 4, 1994; and ten siblings.
