Luann Joyce Funk

Sibley, IA

     LuAnn Funk age 66 of Sibley, Iowa passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep at her home in Sibley.   

     Private family services will be held at a later date.

     LuAnn Funk was born May 28, 1954 in Sioux City, IA to William and Mildred (Eggebrecht) Beeck.  She graduated from Adrian, MN high school.  She continued her education and graduated with honors with an AS degree from Northern Iowa Technical College. LuAnn worked for JBS, the Swift Packing Plant, for 26 years as a bookkeeper in the accounting dept.

     On October 20, 1973 she was united in marriage to James Funk in Adrian, MN and the couple enjoyed 47 years of marriage. To this union three children were born, Scott, Bobbi, and Greg.

     She enjoyed crochet, adult coloring, watching game shows, reading, and collecting cookbooks.  LuAnn also enjoyed adding to her pig collection, vacationing in the Black Hills, and working in her son’s food truck. But mostly, LuAnn loved her family, especially loved going to her grandkids’ activities. LuAnn’s favorite memory was going in the truck with Jim to California and seeing Snow White’s castle in Disneyland.

     LuAnn is survived by her husband, Jim Funk of Sibley, IA; son, Scott Funk of Lake Wilson, MN; daughter, Bobbi and Carsten Reimann of Eitensheim, Germany; and son, Greg and Tori Funk of Sibley, IA; grandchildren, Wyatt, Will, Seth and Maci; her custer (Cousin) Joyce Lunstra of Sioux Falls, SD; and other extended family members.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Beeck; and her parents-in-law, Jake and Beverlee “Bev” Funk.
