Luella Vosburg

Luella Vosburg, age 97 of Larchwood, IA died Friday, October 2, 2020 at Fellowship Village Care Center in Inwood, IA. A Graveside service with Pastor Rich Jensen officiating will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood, IA. A time of visitation will take place prior to the burial starting at 12:00 noon at Jurrens Funeral Home in Larchwood. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Larchwood United Church of Christ. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff of Fellowship Village for their wonderful care where she resided for the last several years. Lu was born February 12, 1923 to Claus and Bertha (Kohl) Rohweder in Rock Rapids. She was baptized on March 21, 1934 at the Community Church in Larchwood. She graduated in 1941 from Larchwood Public High School. Lu attended Nettleton Commercial College. She married Harold Vosburg April 18, 1945. Lu and Harold farmed side by side until 1979 when they moved into Larchwood. They spent many winters in Arizona. They spent time fishing and socializing with friends, enjoying golfing, bowling, and playing cards. Lu enjoyed her church and was very involved in serving funerals and any other activities they did. She was a longtime member of the UCC Church in Larchwood where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She also volunteered at the VA Hospital and Avera Hospital and was very active in the Larchwood Ladies Auxiliary since 1958. Lu is survived by sister, Viola Lambert of Denver, CO, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Bertha Rohweder; husband of 44 years, Harold Vosburg.
