Lyle M. Ohlde, age 77 of Ashton, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his residence.
A family led memorial service will be held at 10:00am December 9, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, Iowa.
Lyle Melvin Ohlde was born October 6, 1943 in Snohomish, Washington.
Lyle grew up in Snohomish till he was 10. In 1953 the family moved to Sunnyside, Washington where he graduated from a Sunnyside High School. After graduation Lyle moved back to Snohomish to work on the homestead. Lyle also made his home in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and for the past 25 years in Sibley, Iowa area.
Lyle’s love of trucking took him all over the United States.
Lyle enjoyed working land, trucking and working with cattle. For the last several years he worked on a farm supervising the calving season and in the summer time making hay with his partner in crime long time friend Todd Rockman.
Lyle is survived by his 3 children Lyle Jr. Kobberstad (Kathy) of Sacramento, CA, Chad Ohlde of Greenville, SD and Samantha ( John) Hettich of Aberdeen, SD. Two step sons Erik ( Netta) Totman of Kailua-Kona, HI and Kevin (Carrie) Totman of Sioux City, IA. 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
He is also survived by 3 brothers Norman Ohlde (Jean) of Hillsboro, OR, Dale (Marilyn) Ohlde of Moxee, WA and Robert Ohlde (Denise) of Yakima, WA.
Lyle was proceeded in death by his parents Melvin and Esther Ohlde, son Doug and Special Friend Carol Totman.
