In September of 1975, Lynn met the love of his life, Karen Kruize. They were married on August 25, 1979 and would have celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this August.

For the last 14 1/2 years, Lynn worked for the Iowa DOT as a Highway Technician, where he could often be seen mowing the guardrails as fine as any golf course in the state and keeping the roads clear in the winter.      Lynn enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was taking care of the yard or going on a bike ride with Karen. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and always had danish, bubblegum, and ice cream waiting for Mya and Maxwell. Lynn lived a faith-filled life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was genuine and honest, with a kind smile and a caring heart. Lynn will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Karen (Kruize) Roder of Ashton, IA; along with his two children, Brian Roder (Jondle) of Tacoma, WA, and Rachel (Ryan) Haskin of Marion, IA, as well as their children, Mya (age 7) and Maxwell (age 5).
